...that's literally how New York City left me. Working in Manhattan at such a young age put me (like many young professionals) in SO MUCH DEBT. Also, let's keep in mind I got my first "break" in New York during the 2012 economic crash... just to add fuel to the fire. Those who know, know.
The majority of my debt came from my nights out. I was so eager to live that Sex and the City lifestyle. The temptation was serious. SMH!
Believe me when I say I went through it. Being in debt is a depressing thing. That's a whole different blog in itself.
Now, I'm a little older and wiser about my finances. But, I still love to be and stay out and about in these streets. I just prefer a really good happy hour in the city. I figured I'll put you all on some of my favorite spots --- these city haunts were selected pre-Covid.

The Folly, 92 W Houston St

The Folly is weird...
and that's why I like it. You would think any happy hour in the city that serves Octopus (which is super expensive), would be extremely packed. It wasn't! Even on a Thursday night.
The music was alrightt. The playlist there had some hits, but nothing that said "oh, this is a party." I recommend this spot for group work outings and date night.
Sagaponack Bar & Grill, 4 W 22nd St
A taste of summer in The Hamptons
... but, in the city. This gem right here is for the seafood lovers. $5 Fried Lobster Ravioli, CT Oysters for a buck (minimum order of 6), and Shrimp Dumplings for $9?! Sign me up!!!
Drink of the night: Summer Breeze Sangria (which was on the HH menu) for $9.

Almond, 12 E 22nd St

Very sexy ambiance
Almond is a such a safe bet if you want an intimate evening. From date night to a night out with your crew, you can't go wrong with Almond. I personally am a fan of their house wines and East Coast Oysters. Oh yeah, their Buffalo Cauliflower is bomb! Tastes just like chicken... and I tend to shy away from anything meatless. #AlmondNYC #FlatironDistrict
